It is no secret that Lakewood Baptist Church is known in the community as “the friendliest church in town.”  From the first time I walked in the doors of Lakewood, I felt the unique kind of hospitality that reflects the grace of Christ.

   In the buckle of the Bible belt, it is easy to find groups of Christians that gather together and meet for church, but to find a church that has a sense of community is considerably more difficult.  Lakewood has that sense of community. 

   I have to admit that it seems unfair that the Lord would gather so many wonderful people into one church, but we know that we do not exist for each other; we exist for the world.  It is our responsibility to reach the lost for Christ in our city and in our world.  Our slogan is: A Church with Christ at Head and You at Heart.  As you browse this website, you will find a group of local believers that take this designation seriously and joyfully.
